Management expertise lands James a new role

TCL soft landscaping team leader James Hilsden has done such a fantastic job over the past year that he's been promoted to area manager for Clean Estates in the South East – with over 50 sites to oversee.

James, who has nine years' experience in grounds maintenance and contracts coordination, is looking forward to becoming an expert on cleaning as well as landscaping – and to working with a new team.

"As a southerner whose new company head office is in Derbyshire the key challenge will be getting to grips with the accent!" explained Clean Estates Managing Director Phil Chapman.

TCL Group colleagues and clients have been vying for their own gold medals during Olympics season – with, instead of a chance to stand on a podium, the prize of a crate of beer to reward them for their efforts.

Clean Estates wins first housing association contract - with a key player

Clean Estates has won its first housing association contract – with one of the country's largest affording housing providers.

Affinity Sutton, which has more than 56,000 properties across England, appointed Clean Estates to maintain the public areas of five developments in Derby and Nottingham over the next three years. Read more


Clean Estates wins national Little Chef contract

Clean Estates has won the contract to handle the landscaping and grounds maintenance for all stand alone Little Chefs in England, Scotland and Wales.

The work will see Clean Estates teams make regular visits to each restaurant between spring and autumn this year.

The work will involve grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding, litter collection, bin emptying and sweeping to create a pleasant and inviting environment for Little Chef's thousands of customers. Read more

CBRE says it has seen improvements across half a dozen of its sites in Nottingham and Leicestershire after appointing Clean Estates to take over its grounds maintenance.

Huge rise in demand for Clean Estates' Frost Watch service

Clean Estates' winter maintenance service FrostWatch saw a huge rise in business this year – despite the weather being far milder than in 2010/11.

The salting and gritting service paid more than 2,000 visits to customer car parks, service yards, access roads and warehouse loading areas since the start of the year, a seven per cent rise on last winter when snow paralysed large areas of the UK. Read more


New head office for Clean Estates

Clean Estates has moved into a new head office to accommodate the additional staff it has taken on to service its growing number of clients.

The commercial estates cleaning and grounds maintenance contractor moved into 4,000 sq ft premises in Denby, Derbyshire amid celebrations which saw TCL group chairman Richard Glover cutting a celebratory cake to mark the occasion. Read more

There is growing pressure from clients for suppliers to demonstrate improvements to all service areas and particularly with regard to Health & Safety Management.

Clean Estates has held both ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 certification for a number of years. Earlier this year the company sought better recognition of its high standards of Health & Safety and Environmental Management procedures and as a result ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 were re-awarded to Clean Estates by BSI accredited by UKAS - The United Kingdom Accreditation Service.
